OUR STORY

It began at a kitchen table in Wicklow, with a love of candles passed down from my Mam. What started as a hobby - measuring wicks, blending waxes, testing jars - quickly became an obsession.

Early experiments with soy wax led to a discovery: the wax itself is everything. I looked to Rathbornes, Ireland’s oldest candle house, and realised their secret wasn’t just fragrance, it was their wax - a bespoke blend that gave their candles a unique proposition.

For nearly a year I tested, blended, and refined - beeswax, rapeseed and coconut - until I created a formula that was truly my own. A wax that carries more fragrance, burns cleaner, and lasts longer.

Today, every SMELLS LIKE candle is hand-poured in my home in Wicklow. Each one a balance of science and craft: wax blended at exact ratios, fragrance added with precision, wicks measured to burn evenly.

It’s a process born from curiosity, persistence, and a love of creating. And it’s what makes our candles different: premium without the pretence, Irish without apology.
